Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana, Gold and Silver: Daily Technical Outlook as of 12 October 2026

Five markets in focus: BTC, ETH and SOL recovery zones, gold testing resistance, and silver between established daily reaction areas.

Daily technical market structure for bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana, gold and silver analysed as of 12 October 2026.

Bitcoin, Ethereum and Solana stabilised after sharp intraday falls but did not reclaim their earlier daily highs. Gold finished within its upper resistance band, while silver recovered from repeated lows without reclaiming the week's upper range.

This outlook uses completed daily data only: crypto observations run through 11 October, while gold and silver stop at 9 October. No market movement on 12 October is included. For continuity with the previous structure, compare HFR's 5 October BTC, ETH, SOL, gold and silver technical outlook.

Data and methodology: daily structure, not live quotations

The reference prices are CoinGecko's dated closing observations for Bitcoin, Ethereum and Solana, and Investing.com's spot gold and spot silver historical price rows. The intraday swing evidence comes from a separate daily OHLC dataset for each asset: ChartExchange's Coinbase BTC/USD UTC candles, ChartExchange's UTC multi-venue ETH/USD composite, Investing.com's Coinbase Pro-labelled SOL/USD historical candles, and the cited XAU/USD and XAG/USD spot daily series.

That distinction matters. CoinGecko provider-wide historical closes do not equal Coinbase candles. Ethereum's swing data are not Coinbase-native; Solana's provider does not independently specify the exact daily session-clock cutoff. TradingView tickers COINBASE:BTCUSD, COINBASE:ETHUSD, COINBASE:SOLUSD, OANDA:XAUUSD and OANDA:XAGUSD may serve as instrument references, but the levels below were not visually extracted from TradingView. Metal spot candles are not COMEX futures settlements.

The zones below combine completed daily wick highs and lows, repeated reactions and nearby closing areas, including a few sessions before 5 October solely to assess structure. They are deliberately approximate. A move beyond a boundary carries more weight when a completed daily close confirms it and later trading holds beyond the area; neither an intraday touch nor a close guarantees continuation.

Reading the table: “Current area” is the last completed historical reference price, not a live quotation. Support and resistance come from completed daily evidence; constructive and weakening signals describe conditional changes in structure rather than trading instructions.

Macro and fund-flow context

The US Treasury nominal par curve eased from 5 to 9 October: 2-year and 5-year yields each fell 4 basis points, the 10-year yield fell 7, and the 30-year fell 6. Yet DXY gained a marginal 0.04%. These macro observations provide background to cross-asset positioning without determining whether any individual technical level will hold.

Bitcoin ETFs, Ethereum ETFs and Farside-tracked Solana-linked products registered respective five-session net outflows of $678.9 million, $542.2 million and $25.0 million. Selected metals funds offered a different mix: GLD had an estimated $331 million outflow, IAU an estimated $42.3 million inflow, and SLV an estimated $33.0 million inflow. These product-specific observations are supplementary context rather than confirmations of support, resistance or global investor demand.

Bitcoin technical analysis: rebound still below the earlier highs

Bitcoin's CoinGecko reference was approximately $83,700 on 11 October. Its separate Coinbase BTC/USD UTC candle history shows why the chart cannot be described solely by that closing price: the 8 October candle fell to roughly $80,300 before closing near $81,693. That long intraday excursion left a deeper reference below the first recovery area.

The nearest reaction zone is approximately $82,400–82,700. The 10 October Coinbase low was about $82,458, and the 11 October low was about $82,714; the preceding 9 October low near $81,534 forms part of the deeper $80,300–81,600 wick-related area. These are closely spaced but not interchangeable zones: the first reflects the more recent recovery, the second the extent of the sharp sell-off and its retest.

Overhead resistance lies around $85,500–87,000. Coinbase highs from 1–6 October included repeated trades in the mid-$85,000s to high-$86,000s, with a 2 October high around $87,249. Bitcoin finished the weekend below that band. A completed daily reclaim and hold above roughly $85,500–87,000 would strengthen the recovery reading. A daily close below the nearer $82,400 area would weaken it; renewed pressure near $80,300 would make the deeper wick boundary more significant. Those conditions describe evidence, not an expected path.

Ethereum technical analysis: already at its first recovery hurdle

Ethereum finished the CoinGecko window near $2,535, at the lower boundary of its approximately $2,535–2,600 initial resistance area. It would therefore be misleading to say ether is still far below first resistance. The ChartExchange composite daily OHLC shows an 8 October low around $2,405 and an 11 October high near $2,557, with an 8 October high near $2,593. That pair of upper reactions helps frame the initial recovery hurdle.

Immediate support is roughly $2,465–2,500. In the composite series, daily lows on 9, 10 and 11 October were approximately $2,468.53, $2,483.62 and $2,495.23, making this a repeated short-term reaction area rather than a round number chosen in isolation. The $2,400–2,410 deeper wick boundary captures the 8 October washout and remains distinct from the subsequent closing recovery.

A sustained completed daily close above approximately $2,600 would add stronger constructive evidence; beyond it, the older daily highs around $2,680–2,740 remain a higher overhead area. Failure to hold $2,465–2,500 would weaken the current recovery, with the low near $2,405 providing a deeper structure-risk reference. This interpretation uses a UTC multi-venue composite, not the Coinbase ETH/USD venue, so its wick extremes must not be represented as Coinbase-specific prints.

Solana technical analysis: repeated lows have yet to reverse the decline

Solana's 11 October CoinGecko reference was approximately $111, after a 5–11 October decline of 7.88%. Its Investing.com Coinbase Pro-labelled daily OHLC records the 8 October intraday low near $105.63. The following candles held above that extreme, but the rebound had not re-established the levels seen earlier in the week.

The immediate support band of approximately $108.3–109.0 follows three dated lows: $108.37 on 9 October, $108.85 on 10 October and $108.91 on 11 October. This cluster offers more support for a repeated-reaction zone than one isolated low. Around $105.6 is the deeper boundary, tested in the sharp 8 October decline.

Resistance begins around $115–117, covering the 7 October close area and the 8 October high near $116.76. The next region, $120–122, reflects the earlier 1–6 October upper trading area. A sustained daily recovery above approximately $116–117 would strengthen the short-term structure, while a completed close below approximately $108 would put the repeated low cluster under pressure. A break of the $105.6 wick extreme would carry greater structure risk. The provider labels the instrument Coinbase Pro SOL/USD but does not specify an exact UTC daily cutoff, so these candles should not be treated as identical to a Coinbase TradingView session.

Gold technical analysis: resistance is being tested, not approached

Gold ended the eligible traditional-market window at approximately $4,194 per ounce, placing it inside the $4,180–4,210 resistance band. The Investing.com spot XAU/USD OHLC rows identify a 6 October high around $4,184 and a 9 October high around $4,208. These observations, together with the final price of $4,194.46, show an active test of the upper area rather than a market merely approaching it from below.

The primary support zone is roughly $4,100–4,140. Daily lows on 6 and 8 October were about $4,104, and the 9 October low was about $4,131, while closing observations around $4,111–4,140 reinforced the reaction area. A separate, deeper boundary near $4,065 comes from the 7 October wick low at $4,066.06. The two zones should not be collapsed into a single support number.

A sustained daily close above around $4,210 would be stronger evidence that gold has cleared the week's upper testing area; it would not guarantee a breakout. Failure to maintain the current range and a close below roughly $4,100 would weaken the recovery. A break near $4,065 would challenge the more important wick-defined structure. The source is a historical spot series, not directly inspected OANDA candles or COMEX futures settlements.

Silver technical analysis: recovering within a wider range

Silver's 9 October historical spot price was roughly $60.83 per ounce, between an approximately $58.5–59.0 support zone and $61.6–62.1 resistance. That intermediate position matters: unlike gold, silver did not finish the week inside the identified upper resistance band.

The support zone is backed by a cluster of completed daily lows: approximately $58.97 on 7 October, $58.50 on 8 October, and $58.98 on 9 October. On the upside, highs were near $62.05 on 5 October, $61.89 on 6 October, and $61.61 on 7 October; the 2 October high near $62.12 provides preceding structure context. These repeated observations support using zones rather than overly precise single-price barriers.

A sustained daily close above approximately $62.1 would strengthen silver's structure by reclaiming the earlier highs. A decline through approximately $58.5 would challenge the repeated lower reaction band. Silver also has a meaningful industrial-demand dimension alongside its precious-metal role, so the metal should not be assumed to follow gold mechanically even when macro conditions overlap.

Cross-asset signals to watch

Two external measurements merit attention without replacing the charts: the dollar index, which was nearly flat on the endpoint measure, and the US Treasury yield curve, which eased unevenly. A shift in the dollar or nominal yields could coincide with different demand conditions for precious metals and crypto, but direction and magnitude should not be inferred from one week's correlation.

The same caution applies to product flows. A slowdown in Farside-reported redemptions would be one piece of contextual evidence; it would not confirm Bitcoin resistance has been reclaimed. Likewise, ETFIQ's estimated GLD/IAU outflows cannot overrule gold's daily spot resistance test. Completed daily price action at the named zones remains the technical test.

Constructive and weakening scenarios

The three cryptocurrencies have recovered from their lows but have yet to reclaim major overhead resistance. A more constructive reading would require Bitcoin to defend $82,400–82,700 and establish daily closes through $85,500–87,000; Ethereum to hold $2,465–2,500 and sustain closes above $2,600; and Solana to retain $108.3–109.0 while recovering above $116–117. These are separate tests, not a forecast of a coordinated rally.

Pressure would return if Bitcoin closed below $82,400, exposing its deeper $80,300–81,600 wick zone; Ethereum lost $2,465–2,500, bringing its $2,400–2,410 boundary and the $2,405 low into focus; or Solana closed below roughly $108, with the $105.6 low at risk. Completed daily closes provide stronger evidence than an isolated intraday breach.

The metals are at different stages: gold is already testing $4,180–4,210 resistance from within, while silver remains between $58.5–59.0 support and $61.6–62.1 resistance. A sustained daily close above $4,210 would strengthen gold, whereas a retreat below $4,100–4,140 would revive risk at $4,065. For silver, a daily reclaim of $61.6–62.1 would be constructive; loss of $58.5–59.0 would be weakening. None of these conditions is a trade instruction or probability estimate.

Trading-cost context

Volatile markets can make transaction costs more noticeable, especially when trading activity increases. HFR's crypto exchange trading-fees guide explains maker/taker fees, funding, spread, and other exchange costs separately. Eligible cashback may offset part of qualifying trading fees after confirmation; What Is Crypto Exchange Cashback? explains the mechanism. Neither changes market exposure, validates a technical level or protects against trading losses.

Technical takeaway

Bitcoin, Ethereum and Solana recovered from their sharpest intraday lows but remained below the main overhead bands identified here. Bitcoin still needs completed daily evidence above $85,500–87,000, Ethereum is testing the lower edge of $2,535–2,600 resistance, and Solana remains between support around $108–109 and its first $115–117 recovery hurdle. Gold is already testing $4,180–4,210 from within, while silver remains between $58.5–59.0 support and $61.6–62.1 resistance. The next useful technical evidence is a completed daily hold or failure around those zones rather than an isolated intraday wick.

Risk note

These daily zones are approximate analytical references, not buy/sell signals, guaranteed price paths or personalised financial advice. Daily prices can move through them during economic announcements, thin trading, liquidity changes and market stress; derivatives and leverage can increase losses beyond what an unleveraged spot-price comparison suggests.

Cashback may help offset part of eligible trading costs after confirmation, but it does not reduce market risk, leverage risk, liquidation risk, funding-rate risk or the risk of loss.

Sources and methodology

The reference prices use CoinGecko Bitcoin, Ethereum and Solana historical closing observations for 11 October, alongside XAU/USD and XAG/USD spot price rows for 9 October. Technical zones draw on completed OHLC rows from ChartExchange Coinbase BTC/USD, ChartExchange composite ETH/USD, Investing.com Coinbase Pro SOL/USD and the same two historical spot metals series. Crypto return calculations use the first and last CoinGecko provider-dated closes on 5 and 11 October; these do not match separate exchange- or composite-specific candle values by definition.

The Bitcoin and Ethereum OHLC datasets are labelled UTC, but the Ethereum series aggregates venues and is not a Coinbase chart. The Solana historical provider does not establish an exact UTC session cutoff. Gold and silver spot OHLC should not be conflated with OANDA TradingView screenshots or official COMEX settlements. Preceding candles were used only as technical-structure background. Macro context uses the US Treasury and DXY history; fund-flow context uses Farside product data and ETFIQ selected-fund estimates. No market action from 12 October was used. Farside tables can be revised after initial publication, so the five-session flow figures should be read as the values checked on 12 October 2026.
