Binance Overview
Binance is a centralised cryptocurrency exchange launched in July 2017. It provides spot trading alongside margin, USDⓈ-M and COIN-M futures, options, copy trading, P2P trading, Convert, trading bots, and other crypto services. Binance also provides REST and WebSocket APIs for products including spot, futures, margin, options, wallets, and copy trading. Product availability depends on the user's country and applicable Binance entity.
A significant regulatory change took effect on 5 January 2026. The global Binance.com platform moved to an Abu Dhabi Global Market structure supervised by the ADGM Financial Services Regulatory Authority. Nest Exchange Limited operates exchange activities including spot and derivatives; Nest Clearing and Custody Limited handles clearing, settlement and custody; and Nest Trading Limited provides broker-dealer and certain off-exchange services. Binance also maintains separate licences, registrations and entities in several other jurisdictions. The protection and products available to a client therefore depend on the relevant legal entity, country and service.
For regular spot users, Binance's current base fee is generally 0.10% maker and 0.10% taker. The fee can be reduced through VIP levels, eligible pair-specific pricing, and BNB fee discounts. Binance's current spot schedule shows a 25% BNB fee reduction for standard spot fees, which can reduce a 0.10% fee to 0.075% where the discount applies. Futures, options, and promotional pairs use separate fee schedules.
Binance requires identity verification for new users before they can access services such as crypto deposits and trading. Its official applications are available for iOS and Android, with desktop software also available. Binance supports technical charts and indicators through its trading interface, API access, and both spot and futures demo trading.
Binance publishes Proof of Reserves using mechanisms including Merkle trees and zk-SNARKs. It also supports account security features such as two-factor authentication, passkeys, hardware security keys, anti-phishing codes, and withdrawal-address whitelisting. Proof of Reserves and Binance's SAFU emergency fund should not be described as bank deposit insurance or a guarantee against loss.
Through HighFxRebates, eligible Binance clients receive 10% of eligible commissions actually paid and reported by Binance.
